How the App Works

Phone Pattern Blocker uses Apple's CallKit framework to provide call blocking functionality. Here's how it works:

You create blocking patterns within the app (e.g., block all calls from 212-555-XXXX)
The app generates a list of phone numbers matching your patterns
This list is stored locally in a Call Directory Extension on your device
iOS uses this local list to block matching incoming calls

All processing happens entirely on your device. Your blocking patterns and the generated phone number lists never leave your iPhone.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following data locally on your device:

Your blocking patterns and rules
Your whitelist exceptions
Generated phone number lists for CallKit

This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed.

CallKit Integration

Phone Pattern Blocker integrates with iOS through CallKit's Call Directory Extension. This is an Apple-provided framework that allows apps to identify and block calls. Important privacy notes:

The app cannot see or access your incoming calls
The app cannot access your call history
The app cannot access your contacts
Blocking happens at the iOS system level, not within our app

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
